The Big List

(Current as of 01/03/2022.)

I’ve written a lot of stories. So many that it’s often hard to keep track, even for me. I’ve released quite a few of them, while others I’ve only alluded to in the occasional post. This page, then, is going to serve as a place to collect all the info about my works.

I’ve tried to sort these into series where possible. Standalone books, novellas, and short stories are all put together at the end, unless I intend to give them sequels. In those cases—Nocturne is a good example—I’ll give them their own set of entries.

Also, I’m using a kind of ranking system to indicate my progress. Before each title is a number in parentheses, ranging from 1 to 5. That shows how far along I am in writing, as follows:

  1. Planning: I’m still looking into these, and I’ll start writing them when the time comes.
  2. In progress: I’m currently writing these stories, and I’m not done.
  3. Draft: I finished the first draft, and I’m revising, but these aren’t ready to be read by others just yet.
  4. Beta: I’ve done enough editing that I’m comfortable putting these out for people to read, but they aren’t finalized.
  5. Release: These are available on Patreon, Amazon, or elsewhere, and I consider them finished.

Otherworld

Otherworld is so big and so important that I feel it deserves a full section of its own. It’s my magnum opus, after all, with a planned 32 short novels and 18 novellas, plus a tie-in novel I wrote just for fun.

The main series is divided into 4 seasons of 8 episodes each, much like a TV show. The novellas are split into three 6-part miniseries, which mostly take place in the downtime between seasons. (There are story reasons for this, I assure you.) I refer to them as “bridge” stories for this reason.

Ideas

These are just some story ideas I’ve had lying around. I may or may not get to writing any of these, so let me know if you want to borrow them.

  • Ice Age — A medieval-level fantasy set in a time of severe cold, whether a full ice age or an extended cold snap.

  • Insanity — An urban fantasy novel with a magic system whose use saps its practitioners’ sanity.

  • Summoners — A “magitech” series where animate spirits take the place of technology.

  • Prisoners — Fantasy or science fiction set in a penal colony, where inhabitants are occasionally sacrificed to prevent some greater calamity.

  • Animus — Anthology where a man experiences a series of past lives through the use of genetic memory technology similar to that found in the Assassin’s Creed video games.

  • Natural Son — A human child, abandoned at birth, is raised by demihuman forest dwellers.

  • River of Souls — Near-future scientific research discovers proof of the existence of the soul.

  • Losing Faith — A superhuman hero abandons his position as guardian of humanity after suffering an existential crisis due to the declining state of the world.

  • Lost Time — Semi-serious spoof of fantasy stagnation where a being of great power is locked away for thousands of years, only to reawaken and find that human progress has outpaced her.

  • Binding — A fantasy series involving sorcerers who bond with spirits or similar creatures, who then become a kind of inner voice.

  • Global Warning — Dystopian post-apocalyptic sci-fi set in a world where environmentalists caused the breakdown of civilization.

  • Lost Generation — In the years before its arrival at a new planet, the inhabitants of a generation ship clash over whether they should leave their home in space at all.

  • Becoming Human — A combat android is awakened from hibernation to find that she must fight her creators.

  • Hybrid Theory — Lighthearted science fiction series where human-animal hybrids are created to colonize other worlds.

  • Godslayer — A villain must become a hero to destroy the corrupt members of a fantasy pantheon.

  • Break the Cycle — A loner in a world determined by fate seeks a way to find true free will, for himself and others.
